Welcome To The Australian Golf Heritage Society

Our aim is to raise the golfing community’s awareness of golf’s history, and the place of that history in the development of the modern game.

The AGHS Collection. The Society’s collection of golfing equipment, artefacts, photographs and documents tells the story of golf in Australia.

Historians The Society's Historians Sub-Committee aims to promote an interest in, and knowledge of, the history of golf in Australia.

Timeline A summary of noteworthy events, individuals and locations that have contributed to the rich history of golf in Australia.

Hickory events are played with pre-1940 wooden shafted clubs. Most events are played off handicap on courses prepared for hickory play.

Supporting the Society is easy with a tax-deductible donation via the Australian Sports Foundation. Monthly, annual or one-off - help keep our history alive.
